My dog has yellow diarrhea. Is canine coronavirus a possible cause?

However, if this does not resolve or progresses to watery diarrhea, a veterinary evaluation should be pursued. If you recently changed foods, that could also explain the coloring difference. Other times, it can be due to parasitic, viral, or bacterial infection present. If the yellow stool continues, you may want to have the stool tested with his veterinarian. I hope this helps!

Did anyone feed him anything other than his puppy food? If so he may have an upset stomach. He can also have one if he has intestinal parasites or a virus. If the stool gets softer or he continues to not want to eat then I would recommend bringing him to a veterinarian to get evaluated. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Hello. It is difficult to say there is infection since a few white blood cells may be incidental. Dabboo might benefit from having an actual fecal culture done, but I would also like to see a GI panel done, including looking at folate levels , Trypsin like immunoreactivity, pancreatic lipase & B12 levels. Thank you for submitting your question regarding James. An intestinal foreign body most commonly results in vomiting. Diarrhea is not seen as frequently. Are you missing something or know of an object he ate? Either way, he should see his veterinarian. Depending on his exam findings, blood work, urine testing and x-rays will likely be recommended to determine the cause of his symptoms. I hope this information helps!

Specifically diarrhea that is yellowish in color is often indicative of coccidia which is a parasite of the small intestine. It is possible it's something else like other parasites, dietary problem, etc. I don't know of any over the counter medicines for coccidia so you will have to consult with your vet and have Luna evaluated before they can prescribe medicine for her. They will be able to evaluate her and run a fecal exam then decide on the treatment. I hope see gets well soon.
