My dog is whimpering, back arched, and acting strange. What's wrong?

Caddy looks really uncomfortable in the photos. It sounds like there is a source of pain, judging from the photos, thid could be pain in the abdomen or in the back or legs. It may also be something simple like full anal glands. I would give him an hour or so to see if he settles in case its just a gassy tummy, but if he doesnt I would take him in for an examination.

Based on your description, I would be most suspicious that Xurrie has injured her back somehow. Injuries like this can results from compressed discs to pinched nerves and muscle strains. The doctor will give her a thorough exam and likely recommend radiographs, pain medications and rest. Pancreatitis can also sometimes present like this. If the doctor is more suspicious of this condition, they will likely recommend some blood tests. I hope its nothin serious for Xurrie!

I think he should be seen by a vet. An arched back can be caused by pain, which could be in the muscle, bone or spine, or belly. Belly pain could be from inflammation of a major organ or from something they ingested (like a food intolerance or a foreign body). After physical examination, the vet may recommend x-rays or ultrasound to see what is going on inside the abdomen, and/or bloodwork to look values of major organs like kidneys and liver. Then once they have a better idea of the cause of Kody's symptoms, they can discuss treatments.

There are many reasons a dog may whimper without showing obvious signs of illness. Sometimes it is due to a mildly upset tummy, constipation, or any other injury or disease that causes pain. Poor Tigs! It definitely sounds like something is wrong. Unfortunately, these are very vague symptoms that could be caused by almost any kind of medical problem - shaking, acting lethargic, and not eating are generally signs of pain or discomfort, but beyond that he would need an exam and some diagnostic testing to determine what's wrong.
