Why is my dog losing weight, anxious, barking, and not sleeping?

Hello. I am sorry to hear that Bob is not doing well. Unexplained weight loss is always a concern and can be caused by many different factors including gastrointestinal diseases (worms, food allergies, IBD, absorption disorders), metabolic diseases (diabetes, liver disease, kidney disease), heart disease and airway disease. If he is getting dizzy this can be a sign of lack of either blood flow to the brain, or lack of oxygen to the brain. This can be the cause of either heart disease or lung disease. Dizziness can also be due to anemia which can be caused by kidney disease. Lethargy is a sign of all of these conditions. As you can see, Bob has very non-specific signs, but his condition sounds serious. I would strongly recommend that you see your veterinarian, and they will likely wish to pursue bloodwork and possibly an x-ray of the chest. I hope Bob gets better soon!

The description that you gave of Jex sounds very concerning. I would get him into a veterinarian for a thorough exam. He most likely will need some diagnostics to find out what is going on. There is a chance that he has eaten something foreign that has caused a partial obstruction, he could have pneumonia, and there are lots of other possibilities by the description that you have given. It's hard to say whether or not Milo's behavior at night is an attempt to 'tell you something', but even vague behavior changes can sometimes be a sign of illness. Weight loss with an increased appetite are concerning and I'd recommend having your vet examine Milo. It's possible that he has intestinal parasites or a disease like diabetes that is causing these symptoms. The hair loss could be a sign of parasites or allergies.

Eating less than before and losing weight is concerning. This may be caused by a tooth problem, pain in the mouth or jaws, gastrointestinal disease, general pain and many other conditions. Unfortunately it is a very unspecific sign so I suggest you take your dog to your vet for an exam and some blood work to get to the bottom of this.

Yes, this unexplained weight loss in Mia definitely worries me. 2 lbs of loss in a large dog wouldn't be too alarming, but in Mia's case she's lost 25% of her original body weight and that should absolutely be investigated. It is never normal for a dog to lose this much weight and almost certainly indicates a medical problem. I recommend bringing Mia to the vet for evaluation. Anticipate that your vet will likely start with an exam, then will probably recommend checking a fecal sample and running bloodwork. Dramatic weight loss in young dogs can be due to problems with digestion (such as inflammatory bowel disease or pancreatic insufficiency), congenital issues (such as a liver shunt), intestinal parasites, and (less commonly) cancer, among other things. Sudden weight loss is always a very big warning light that should not be taken lightly, it's usually a sign of an internal disease that needs to be investigated, i strongly recommend taking him to the vet in order to get it checked, he will need to have a blood test done and possibly an xray as well in order to attempt to diagnose the reason for these symptoms.

According to the symptom of weight loss, otherwise normal and elevations on bloodwork, I would advise having your pet checked for Cushings disease (due to elevated ALP) via a specific test that your vet can go over with you. Also an abdominal ultrasound should be considered as well to check for any obvious masses since the Globulins were a bit high. Weight loss can also be caused by a change in diet as well, especially if your pet was once overweight, so its best to discuss this possibility with your vet as well.
