My active Lab vomits undigested food 3 hours after eating. Why?

Shino could have parvo, a severe stomach illness, or a foreign body causing the vomiting and diarrhea. She is really sick, and this cannot be treated at home. You need to take her into a vet immediately.

She might have eaten something spoiled that is causing this. withhold food for 12 hours then offer Jolene boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if she is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put her back gradually on her normal food. If she continues vomiting or being bloated, take her to the vet to get treatment.

I recommend to have some diagnostics. If your vet seems unwilling to do this, I recommend to get a second opinion. Chronic vomiting is not normal and can indicate many things including an ulcer in the stomach, a foreign object in the stomach, a tumor in the stomach, GI parasites, inflammatory bowel disease or even something like kidney disease. If it was just one time, I wouldn't be too concerned about the vomit. If something isn't sitting well in their stomach you may notice some undigested food. If Roxy continues to vomit or becomes lethargic then I recommend taking her to a veterinarian to have her evaluated. Poor guy. I would suggest having your vet do baseline bloodwork first to rule out underlying conditions that can cause repeated episodes of vomiting such as pancreatitis, kidney or liver disease first. Then once those are ruled out I would inquire with your vet about giving him Pepto Bismol for a short trial period to see if this helps with his assumed upset stomach issue. Poor pup! Labs are notorious for eating things they should not, and she could have a foreign body causing her symptoms. It could also be she has a GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, or could have pancreatitis. Since she is not eating or drinking as well as vomiting, I would take her into a vet now. Without seeing him in person, I can't say for certain what is causing his vomiting, but I can say that when a dog is vomiting for longer than 24 hours, it's time to see a vet.
