My dog is vomiting and weak after ear cancer injection. What's wrong?

This depends on the drug that was given but it is possibly a side effect. Also remember that ear infections themselves can cause lethargy or “off” behavior as can the stress of visiting the vet. Don’t panic unless you see vomiting, diarrhea, facial swelling, collapse, or other worrisome signs. The injection is called Cerenia, if this didn't help then you must take him back to the vet for a blood test and xray/ulrasound, he might be suffering from either a foreign body in the GI tract or severe gastrointestinal infection.

Sam certainly sounds like he could be feeling a whole lot better. The contents of the vomit do a look a little odd, sort of grainy and liquefied. It almost looks like he could have gotten into something, or was eating dirt. What kind of medications is Sam taking for his current ailments. Depending on the nature of the liver condition, there are several different medications that should be considered. There is a liver supplement available called Denamarin that is designed to promote liver health and lower increased liver enzymes. I find it very effective in most cases. Depending on the cause of the bronchitis, it may require antibiotics to be resolved or potentially anti-inflammatory medication. If the vomiting is your primary concern at this time, I would give a call to your vet and see if he can prescribe some Cerenia to get it under control. The best thing that can be done would be to get Sam back into the vet to have looked over. With his medical conditions, it would be best to make sure he does not require any hospitalization to get better.

Hi there. If it's been a week since her vaccinations, it's unlikely that her current vomiting issues would be related to this - most vaccine reactions or side effects are seen within the first 24-48 hours. There are many different things that could cause vomiting in an older dog like this, so it's hard to say what might be wrong without being able to examine her and run some tests. Because of this, I would recommend taking her to the vet tomorrow for an exam. He/she can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help diagnose the problem and see what kind of treatment is needed.

The vomiting is very unlikely to be related to the surgeries and could perhaps be related to any post-operative medications that she is on (if that applies) or perhaps something unrelated. If she is on any medications, check with your veterinarian to see if these can be discontinued. Otherwise, have her evaluated by your veterinarian to check for any other possible causes like gastroenteritis. At the very least they can start her on anti-nausea medications. I'm sorry to hear Jess has been so ill. Since she has so many symptoms ongoing, it would be best to bring her back into the vet ASAP for care. Your vet may recommend additional tests such as X-rays or bloodwork or a deeper look into her ears under sedation to try and find an underlying cause to all of her symptoms. Ear infections can also sometimes cause pain in the jaw or neck, and may cause a dog to be nauseated or dizzy which could be leading to the vomiting you are seeing. If she is completely listless and unwilling to move, eat, or drink, it would be best to seek care immediately to treat any dehydration or other more serious issues right away.
