My dog won't eat and threw up a strange object. Is it serious?

If he hasn't been eating in two days it is highly abnormal, i would not recommend waiting, he needs to see a vet as soon as possible, it may be an infection or some other condition that requires to be treated with medications.

Vomiting and inappetence can occur from many conditions such as foreign body ingestion and obstruction, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. I am concerned that he could be showing signs of an obstruction which is something that requires therapy which sometimes includes surgery. I recommend that you have Jager evaluated by a veterinarian at this point for further assessment and treatment. This will likely require bloodwork and abdominal imaging in terms of diagnostics. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least your veterinarian could start him on medications to make him feel better. That is a long time for Kittu to vomit, and I would be concerned he has something serious wrong with him such as a foreign body or pancreatitis causing his vomiting. if he's vomiting whenever he eats, he will not have had any nutrition for four or five days. Poor Boo Boo sounds very ill! He could be suffering from a severe GI illness, could have a foreign body, or could have parvovirus if he isn't fully vaccinated. I would have Bentley seen by a vet immediately. It's quite serious that she threw up blood, and that could be caused by eating something toxic, a foreign body, trauma to the GI tract, or GI ulcers among other causes. Since it has been more than a day that Bear has not eaten, I recommend taking him to the vet. It could be anything from not liking his original food, to an upset stomach, to something more serious like pancreatitis, a foreign object, oral pain etc. Your vet can perform a full physical exam and decide if additional diagnostics are warranted at that time (blood work, fecal testing, radiographs). If Bear has any vomiting, diarrhea, or lethargy- I would recommend taking Bear in sooner to the vet.
