Dog vomiting red liquid after antibiotic for paw issue?

Poor Mac! I recommend to call his veterinarian who may ask to see him again or may recommend medications. It possible the antibiotic has upset his tummy but it’s also possible something else is going on. You can switch his diet to boiled white meat chicken and plain boiled white rice for the next few days. If he continues to be sick, he should see his veterinarian. Poor Bayzel. Vomiting while on antibiotics could be an adverse effect of the medication, especially if he was just started on it less than 24 hrs ago. Notify your vet and another antibiotic can be tried. If he wasn't just started on the medication, then yes the chicken could have upset his stomach, especially if he isn't used to it and/or it had spices on it that just didn't agree with him. Offer him fresh, plain boiled chicken breast and white rice for the next few feedings and also some Pedialyte (non-flavored) diluted 50:50 with water to help keep him hydrated after so many bouts of vomiting. If he is still vomiting up water and food by tomorrow, then its best to take him to your vet for further care. These don't sound like signs that are related to his heart disease at the moment. It is possible that she could be having a sensitivity to the antibiotic or this could be another complication to her upset tummy. I would make sure you are feeding her a complete meal then wait 15-20 minutes befor giving her the antibiotics. Also you may want to try feeding her only plain chicken (no bones) and rice as This is bland and easy on the tummy for recovery. If This doesn’t help then I would talk to your vet about a recheck. Your vet may want to give her an anti-nausea medicine, change her antibiotics or take X-rays if indicated. I hope this helps!

I would take her to see your vet or at least try to call and talk to them. She may not be tolerating the antibiotics as well as she should. Your vet may choose to switch the antiobiotics or recommend you give her an antacid depending on what is going on with her. I hope this helps and she starts to feel better really soon!

It may be the antibiotic or it could be discomfort associated with the pancreatitis. Report the vomiting to your veterinarian and consider a recheck exam. Your veterinarian may dispense an anti emetic to control vomiting as well as pain management.

I it may be a reaction to the medication or there could have been something else alreadybtherr that just didn’t show it self yet such as an infection. If you are displeased with your vet then you can seek a second opinion but i would give the vet a call or schedule a recheck to see if they want to change medications or do blood work to address the vomiting now. Since there is blood in the vomit I would recommend getting him rechecked to make sure it does not continue and he doesn’t get dehydrated from it

That is not too long to be on an antibiotic as sometimes we prescribe longer courses. If he is getting sick on the antibiotic I would discontinue using it and contact your vet as soon as you can so that you can put spyke on a different antibiotic that won't cause a sensitive stomach.
