Puppy threw up brown liquid, breathing strange. Could it be slugs?

So sorry to hear that Bubu is not feeling well! Puppies are very prone to intestinal parasites, and depending on which vaccines they have received, viral infections such as parvovirus. Bubu may have also eaten something he should not have which has blocked his intestinal tract or was toxic. He should be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible as he is likely to become dehydrated very quickly as he loses fluids from vomiting and having diarrhea and not eating/drinking. His veterinarian will likely need to run some tests including blood work, a fecal exam, and take x-rays to determine the cause and prescribe medication to treat the condition. I hope Bubu feels better soon!

I would maybe advise trying to feed Frank a very small amount of food and see if that doesn't settle his stomach. The slug is probably causing the nausea and vomiting because I'm assuming Frank was fine before this exposure. If the vomiting doesn't resolve, I would advise that you call your local emergency vet hospital and discuss the case with them. I would hope that with a little food on his stomach, things would settle for him but only time will tell. Good luck with Frank.

Letti may have been vomiting for many reasons: she has eaten something that caused stomach upset, she has invested a foreign object, she acquired a virus of her intestinal tract, or she may be having a reaction. If her vomiting has stopped, she is drinking water, and willing to eat a small amount of food and can keep it down, I would continue to have you watch her closely for the next 24 hrs to see if she gets worse. If Letti continues to vomit, develops diarrhea, and:or is not interested in food, I would recommend to have her evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible.

Vomiting is a very common symptom in animals and can be caused by something going on with the GI tract or any other organ system. If the tubular structure is grass it is possible he vomited that up after eating a large amount of it or if he previously ate something and defecated it out. Sometimes pets can vomit after straining to defecate as well. One of the main concerns with vomiting in animals is foreign body obstruction, which can be an emergency. The character of that vomit is concerning. The best plan would be for him to see your vet for an exam. Bloodwork to rule out extra GI causes and xrays are likely to be recommended as the first steps. Unless you have slug bait down in the vicinity i would not be immediately concerned. Slugs and snails can carry lungworm and monthly prevention should be considered to prevent infection in any dogs which may be exposed in affected areas, your vets office can advise on local infection risks

Poor Bear! This could indicate bleeding within his G.I. tract. That could be caused by also's, toxins, some cancers as well as infections. Because bleeding in the G.I. tract can cause severe anemia and even death I recommend Bear be examined by his veterinarian or emergency veterinarian tonight. Do not offer him any food or water or any human medications until he is examined by his veterinarian. You should monitor his gums for paleness as well as his abdomen for any pain or distention.

Vomiting, unfortunately, can be caused by a laundry list of different reasons. Tyler being a young Labrador makes me very suspicious that he may have ingested something he shouldn't have. Frequent, foul smelling, brown vomit is very concerning for an obstruction somewhere along the gastrointestinal tract. I highly recommend having Tyler seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible for x-rays of his belly to rule in or out obstruction, which can be life threatening if not treated sooner rather than later. The vet may also recommend other diagnostics and/or medications to help stop the vomiting and make Tyler more comfortable. The sooner you can get him seen the better for all parties involved. Hopefully, the reason for Tyler vomiting is not obstruction and he can be medically managed, but better to know and ahead of the game by taking him in to see the vet.
