My pug has a swollen testicle and itchy ears. What should I do?

It sounds like there is underlying condition causing the relapse - allergies and food sensitivities are common causes. I recommend a hydrolyzed diet such as royal canin hypoallergenic for 8-10weeks to assess for diet triggers and possibly blood tests for allergies

This is may be normal but it's impossible to know without palpating the area. Palpate both testicles at the same time. If they feel like they are different sizes, different temperatures, different shapes or seem painful, I recommend to have him examined by his veterinarian. I hope this helps.

This could be caused by a local inflammation and possibly an infection. Persistent licking and rubbing can worsen the inflammation. A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly anti-inflammatory ointment are needed to solve the problem. At home, some zinc oxide ointment/cream (like sudocream) can be apply twice daily. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking (if any). First of all, in order to rule out skin parasites, you will need to ask the vet to perform a skin scrape - this might reveal an infection or a mite infestation. If all of those came back negative, the next step is to treat the allergy symptomatically and try to discover the cause of the allergy. Three main type of allergies are usually affecting pets: food allergies, flea and parasite related ones and environmental type (allergens coming from trees, pollens, dust etc etc). Some medications can be given by the vet in order to repair any possible skin lesions (like steroids and antibiotics). Speedy is probably suffering from local irritation, possibly an allergic reaction as well. i would recommend buying an E-collar and putting it around his neck to prevent him from licking the area and making it worse. if the issue does not resolve within a few days- take him to the vet in order to get it treated.

Spray the solution on a cotton ball and then wipe it on the affected areas. If there is no improvement in a few days then you should get him to your vet for an exam. Poor Marni. If I'm understanding correctly that this isn't the first time this has happened, that sounds like classic skin allergies, which French Bulldogs are prone to. Basically, when dogs have allergies (usually to something in the environment like pollen or grass, but it can also be a food or fleas) they get skin issues such as ear infections and skin infections. The treatment is treating the infections, and then figuring out what they are allergic to and either suppressing the body's allergy response with medications or avoiding the allergen. Now if this is the first time, it's possible she got some water in her ears and her vulva is infected because of the way it's shaped (also very common in French Bulldogs). So I would recommend a vet visit to see what infections she has going on a great treatment, and also to make a long term strategies for getting any allergies diagnosed and under control.
