Why is my dog's belly swollen with bloody urine & worm-like thing?

I am very sorry to hear about your dog. She definitely needs to go see a veterinarian as soon as possible. Swelling of the abdomen as you describe can be from many causes including fluid buildup in the abdomen (due to things such as heart disease, liver disease, low protein levels due to kidney loss or intestinal loss or severe intestinal parasitism), tumors in the abdomen as well as tumors that are bleeding or oozing into the abdomen. The vet will palpate your dog's belly and may recommend testing including a fecal test to check for parasites and bacteria, an x-ray to look for fluid and tumors, and bloodwork to check protein and red and white blood cell levels.

It could be something serious like heart disease or even cancer causing Cyrus's symptoms, but without seeing him in person, I can't say for certain. Before considering putting him down, I'd have him seen by a vet for this issue to see if it's something that may be able to be treated. I'd have him seen by a vet in the morning. Best of luck.

Hello, sorry to hear about Thelma. It sounds like she may have potentially a UTI or even vaginitis. Other causes of peeing blood include a tumor within her urinary tract. If indeed a UTI, this can cause quite a bit of discomfort, increased urgency to urinate, and if bleeding continues then perhaps anemia as well. I would recommend having her evaluated as soon as you are able to. There are no over the counter medications you can use to treat a UTI as these frequently need an antibiotic to treat, but you may be able to give her yunnan baiyao to help control bleeding. This is a herbal supplement that for some pets have help control bleeding, it is an over the counter supplement that does not require a prescription. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Oh dear! These are very concerning signs - I would be worried that Kisses may have a serious problem such as internal bleeding, heart or liver disease, or a severe infection of some kind. I'm afraid that there isn't really anything you can do at home for a problem this serious - she really needs to be seen by a vet immediately. If her regular vet is out of town, I would take her to another vet today for an exam and some diagnostic testing to find out what's wrong.

I'm so sorry that Cash is not doing well. His clinical condition is very concerning and makes me worry about a significant chronic disease such as heart failure, protein-losing diseases, or a cancerous process. I highly recommend Cash be evaluated at a veterinary emergency hospital with internal medicine capabilities. He likely needs x-rays and bloodwork alongside a potential abdominal ultrasound or echocardiogram.

Poor guy. I am so sorry Charlie is ill and has this suspicious erythematous lesion on his belly near his penis. This looks like a possible mild bleeding under the skin or potentially an adverse reaction to a tick or black fly bite. A black fly bite wouln't cause systemic illness however (not eating, lethargy). There is possibly an internal issues going on here and more information is needed to determine what exactly. I would recommend taking him in to the vet first thing in the morning. He should be stable enough to wait until morning as long as she is not having any of the following: 1) Pale gums 2) Severe lethargy and non-responsiveness 3) Excessive vomiting that is continuous 4) More red spots developing on the skin in various places If he does not show any of the above symptoms, then it is likely ok to wait until morning to get Charlie seen and fully evaluated. The main concern is if there is an underlying bleeding disorder or immune system disoder (i.e. IMHA, IMTP). I hope that things work out well for your pet Charlie and that he feels better soon! Allergic reactions after bug bites in dogs can result in a swollen face, and can also result in some gastritis (vomiting and diarrhea). It looks like the swelling is improving which is good. I would suggest a vet visit if you can for the vomiting and diarrhea, however if that isn't possible then I would suggest to feed a bland diet of boiled/boneless/skinless chicken breasts and boiled rice, in small frequent meals for the next couple days. This will heal up a mild gastritis. The swelling will take time to come down, so just monitor that it isn't getting worse. If the diarrhea continues or if it becomes very bloody (looks like jam) then you will need to figure out how to take him to a vet. Best of luck with Charlie!
