My dog was stung, now has a small pus bump on her lip. Is it okay?

I would clean the area with warm water to start over the weekend and monitor the spot. If it is getting bigger, swelling , or bothering Meadow then I would contact your vet on Monday. It may just be a little pimple or cyst, in which case it could remain flat and heal over completely. If this is the case you don't have to worry about it!

I wouldn't rush him to the vet just yet. Just monitor the area for the next few days to a week. It should go away on its own if it is just a bug bite or minor skin reaction. If it gets worse or doesn't resolve then its best to have it looked at after the wait and see period is over, especially if Beaux is not bothered by it.

Poor girl. Acute swelling like this usually indicates that your pet was recently bit by an insect that caused a localized inflammatory response. Try applying a ice pack to the area to help with the swelling. If it is still present or seems to be spreading to the rest of the face and neck area especially, then Kona needs to be seen by a vet right away for treatment (steroids + antihistamines). They do tend to swell varying amounts when they get stung by bees, but they don't tend to have severe complications, so I would not worry too much right now. You can safely give one 50mg tablet of benadryl by mouth to help prevent allergic reactions. Just know that this will make him drowsy. An allergic reaction normally happens within the first couple of hours, so if he's doing OK by the end of the day, then he should be fine. If he starts vomiting, you notice his face swell excessively, or he seems to have trouble breathing, then these would be signs of an allergic reaction that needs emergency vet treatment. Based on these photos, it does appear there is a little dot at the center of the lump, and you could be correct that this is some sort of insect bite. I would watch this lump over the next week or two. As long as it is slowly getting smaller, then I would not be concerned, however, if there is no change over the next couple of weeks, or it is getting bigger, firm, red, or painful, then seek veterinary attention. Hello, thank you for using Pet Coach! I don’t think this is anything to worry about. You can just treat it at home. Keep it clean and apply a topical antibiotic ointment twice a day. If after a week it doesn’t look like it’s healing then you should take her to the vet for an exam.

I would just monitor the paw for now. You can apply an ice pack for 5-10 minutes 2-3 times per day to help with the discomfort or reduce any swelling that may occur. If Diva begins to have any other symptoms such as breathing difficulties, swelling of the face, etc. I would recommend getting her examined by a veterinarian for further treatment.
