My dog spit clear liquid after playing and jumping. Is it serious?

It's not normal to throw up from running around and playing. It's possible Kona has some tracheal irritation from a low grade infection or allergies and the exercise caused it to become worse. Irritation in the stomach could also cause the same clinical signs. You may consider having Kona examined by the veterinarian to be on the safe side. Resting Kona for the next week may also help (no activity that makes her pant or run). Monitor her for any respiratory symptoms such as coughing, sneezing or a runny nose. Frequent spit up episodes in dogs can be caused by acid refulx, inflammatory bowel disease or the beginning stages of something more serious underlying like kidney disease. I would suggest that you take Luna to your vet for an overall health assessment at this point, since the spits ups have happened more than one occasion. It is best to get her seen and make sure she is ok moving forward. The greenies should not continuously causing spit up episodes if they have been removed from her diet and she still continues to vomit for more than 24 hrs. It's very common for dogs to have a bit of foam on their tongue or near their mouth if they have been running and playing hard - this happens because they are panting hard during exercise, which dries out their mouth and makes their saliva thicker, causing it to look foamy. As long as Mia is acting normal otherwise, this should not be any cause for concern :)

Vomiting can be a sign of many possible underlying causes such as problems within the GI tract (ingestion of foreign material, inflammation, infection) or systemic disease. Since Spaz only had one episode of vomiting so far you could continue to monitor him for any further episodes of vomiting or other symptoms. If the vomiting continues or Spaz develops any additional symptoms I would recommend having him seen by a veterinarian. They can examine him and discuss the need for additional diagnostics such as systemic bloodwork or abdominal x-rays. Hope this helps, good luck!

Ejaculate containing sperm should look opaque white, so I don't think it sounds like sperm. It could be very dilute urine that appeared clear, or it may be saliva if he was licking his penis and prepuce. If he is urinating normally and seems to be acting like his usual self I would not be concerned. You should monitor for any wet areas on his bedding or other discharge from his penis and contact your veterinarian if you see these signs.

It sounds like Indiana could be a little nauseous, as drooling can be a sign of nausea. He may have played too roughly, and upset his stomach. I would rest him, and wait another hour before feeding him. Because he's already uncomfortable, i wouldn't recommend feeding him just yet because that can cause bloat. In another hour, if he seems a little more comfortable, you can give him small amounts of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice. You can feed him this a couple of times tonight, and then tomorrow slowly add back in his normal diet. Hopefully by tomorrow, he will be back to his normal self. If he's not, then I would have him seen by a vet for a health check.

If he has indeed produced vomit (as apposed to retching without getting anything up), and he’s drooling but playful, it’s reasonable to give him through the night and see how he is in the morning. The drooling is probably because he’s nauseous. If he seems dumpy or lethargic in the morning, or if he’s still drooling or continues vomiting or has no interest in food, you need to take him in tomorrow. I hope that’s helpful!
