That is a really large swelling so he should be examined and treated by a vet. Your vet can do some testing to figure out the cause and then prescribe medications to treat. He may need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, corticosteroid, or other medications. Please call your vet and have him examined.

Poor Punky! If her nose is swelling you could put an ice pack on it and see if that helps. You should have your vet take a look at it to determine if treatment is needed. She may need an antibiotic to prevent infection and an anti-inflammatory to help with pain and swellimg.

I highly recommend that you have Cop evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. You are right, it could be an insect bite. If it's daytime where you are, I would take Shiloh into a vet now. If it's nighttime, you can wait until the morning, but rush him into an ER vet if his face starts swelling more, he gets hives, or have trouble breathing. I hope this helps!

Ouch, poor Ruger! Bite wounds can be tricky because oftentimes we only see the tip of the iceberg with the external injuries. The damage to the tissues under the surface of the skin is often much more extensive than the small puncture seen on the skin. It's possible that this bite wound caused damage to his nasal passages, or even just enough soft tissue swelling and inflammation around his nasal passages to cause him to sneeze. Bite wounds also introduce a lot of bacteria and can become infected quickly. You should take Ruger to the vet now for evaluation. Your vet will want to do a full physical exam and may recommend sedating him to more extensively evaluate this puncture wound.
