Why does my dog have a small cut or peeling skin on her body?

I recommend you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as this will likely require local therapy with cleaning of the site, pain control medications and antibiotics. Also, your veterinarian could check for a possible underlying cause like allergies, mites or a foreign body reaction. Good luck!

It's unfortunately difficult to always tell by a picture what is going on. It looks like a possible contact allergy. I would try an anti histamine with a topical cream/shampoo for inflamed skin. I would monitor her outside and make sure she is not sticking her nose any where she shouldn't like an ant hill. If not improving or getting worse I would recommend taking her to a veterinarian

Unfortunately as much as we try the warning devices can cause a burn that doesn’t show up for several days. Or could he burned himself on something? Another possibility is a hot spot. Hello, thank you for using PetCoach. It is very difficult to say what this lesion could be. It almost looks like he scraped it causing a superficial wound. I suggest you try using this topical wound spray on the lesion 3-4 times per day for about a week to 10 days. If there is no improvement after that time then I think you should take Marco to your vet for an exam. Based on the photo, I would recommend having a veterinarian take a look at this to rule out the various possible causes. This could be a bacterial infection, fungal infection such as ringworm, etc. The veterinarian will be able to perform some additional testing and have a better look at it so that the most appropriate treatment can be recommended. It’s difficult to know how to advise without a photo. Pets can get more dark pigment on their skin as they age. Other causes of pigmentation our inflammation, allergies, drama and minor infection’s. If there is no improvement or in the meantime this appears to be getting worse, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good night!
