I can’t tell from the picture exactly what is going on but I can still definitely tell you the things that would push me to take Charlie in. 1) If the mass changes, measure the size of the mass, if it changes size rapidly, loses the fur over it, or starts producing discharge, time to call the vet. 2) If his behavior changes (more tired, decreased appetite, limping or licking at area) Otherwise, I would just watch it and let the owners know when they get back.
