Updated on September 23, 2025

My vet just prescribed ronaxan for a crackling chest my pug is 7kg and she has put up 100mg once a day is that dose okay ? Also it says side effects are vomiting and she has a sensitive stomach is there a better alternative to ronaxan for her I could ask for ? She is already on Epiphen, gabapentin and prednicare

Ronaxan is a good antibiotic for chest infections. It should always given with a little bit of food and water as it could cause gastro-oesophageal inflammation.
Alternatively Amoxicillin and clavulanic acid can be used but it certainly less specific.
