Is my pet's poop color normal, and is seeing hair in it okay?

Some times cats pass hair in the feces and often that hair/poop will be large and gray colored. This can be normal. I recommend Hills hairball prevention diet, using cat laxative weekly and brushing or combing your cat daily to remove as much loos hair as possible. Sometimes a change in diet will cause the stool to change color. Sometimes a mild viral infection can also cause this but again, I would not worry unless she loses her appetite or becomes lethargic. I'm sorry to hear of your trouble with Alex. I am quite concerned that he is vomiting brown material. I would recommend that you have Alex seen by your veterinarian again. They may recommend bloodwork and xrays to determine what is causing his symptoms.
