When is it safe for my dog to play with others after epulis removal?

What great news about Sadie! Given that she didn't need anesthesia, I would have her rest for the next couple of days, taking her for short walks to potty and not playing just yet. After about 72 hours, if she is feeling fine, you can start increasing her exercise and play. I hope this helps!

Hello. Your veterinarian has taken an abundance of precautions for your pet. For most routine surgeries, even in an older girl like yours, restricting activity for 7-10 days is fine. This usually means curtailing running up & down stairs, jumping on furniture & leaving a pet unattended outdoors for hours on end. If Precious is primarily a house dog, then just try & slow her down a bit & either walk her on a leash outdoors or supervise her activity. Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. Unfortunately, Boxer's are predisposed to developing this type of mass in the mouth. These can be removed surgically but commonly come back. I typically recommend removing these if they are increasing in size or if they are causing a problem and the dog is biting down on the epulis when chewing food causing the mass to bleed. If you are interested in having these removed, I would discuss this with your veterinarian so that you can arrange for this to be done. I hope this helps! It would be best to avoid licking for 3 more days until he is 14 days post surgery. He can at this point play with the other dogs but I would make sure to avoid licking of the incision so there are no set backs in the healing process. The scrotum is likely going to continue to shrink with time. In some cases when dogs are neutered later in life, the scrotum may continue to look distended even after surgery and a cosmetic surgery (scrotal ablation), while not needed, could be considered for cosmetic purposes at that point. In general, it is advised to restrict a dog's activity by preventing running/jumping/rough play for 10-14 days after a spay surgery to help reduce the risk of surgical complications. Keep the surgical site clean and dry by preventing splashing in mud/ dirt/ water, and take Molly out (on a leash) for short potty breaks only. I hope that helps!

Yes absolutely she will!! Post operative care usually involve rest for 36 hours after surgery, to wear a buster collar and to do lead walks and restrict exercise for 10 days. Other than that she will be ok no worries, in a month time she will be like nothing was happened.

I would say after 24 hours, Leo should be fine to see other dogs. Depending on what product you used, efficacy rates can vary. The best products are oral products such as Comfortis, Simparica or Trifexis. Some over the counter products don't work well at all. So there is variability in how well it will work. After 24hours any product you used will be in his system and any topical products dried. Please post again with any further questions.
