My dog has pink eye. Does she need a vet, and will insurance pay?

Updated on September 23, 2025

If my dog seems to have pink eye, do I have to take her to the vet? And does insurance cover any of it?

Thank you for contacting Pet Coach with your concern about Delilah! Yes, she does need to see the vet for her eye infection. Any eye problem should be examined and treated by a vet promptly, as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I don't know the insurance plan you have with Petplan, so you need to give them a call to see if they cover any of it. Give her vet a call in the morning to make an appointment. Best of luck.
