My dog has a pink belly bump. Could it be a tick bite or just a navel?

Hello. It is difficult to tell if this is a cyst or a small tumor, but it is good to have this looked at soon. Iggy is young, so I am not so much concerned about this being very serious, but Pitbulls do seem to be a little more inclined to develop what we call button tumors. Most of these are not terrible dangerous, & if your veterinarian suggests having this removed & the tissue sent for pathology, I would do so. Often, with these small tumors, removal is curative. But knowing what this is also gives you a heads up as to whether or not other small tumors may arise from time to time. I would not panic over anything I have said, but wait to have this looked at. Based on the pictures, it does not look like a tick. It looks like a skin mass. Have your vet take a look at him to determine exactly what it is. Your vet may want to aspirate or biopsy to diagnose.

I agree, the bump in the picture looks like a nipple, which is a normal part of a dog's anatomy. Chewy's limping won't be related to that, and limping is a sign of pain in dogs. It could be he injured himself causing the limping. If he's no longer limping, I wouldn't be concerned, but definitely take him into a vet tomorrow if he is still limping. Best of luck.

It could be an insect or tick bite, it could also be ringworm, if this does not get any better within a week you will need to take her to your vet in order to get it checked and treated. try to avoid contact as ringworm is contagious to humans as well.

Hello. This could just be a cyst or small tumor such as a histiocytoma. At this point, it does not look worrisome, so just monitor for any changes in size &/or shape. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It could be a wound from trauma, tick/insect bite, or a histiocytoma. Histiocytoma’s are benign growths on young dogs that are pink raised button like masses that can ulcerate. They tend to form more often on the limbs. They also tend to go away on their own in a few months. You can clean it and apply an antibiotic cream and prevent licking up see if it resolves. It it persists or grows I’d have your vet look at it. Hi, sometimes dogs can get blood blisters usually on their underside. If it's not bothering her, leave it alone. Iy may go away on its own or stay there. If you think she's bothered by it, she should see a vet about getting it removed. But it doesn't mean anything bad is going on. Good luck, I hope this helps!
