My Maltese has orange pee. Should I be worried about her health?

That may be due to a urinary tract infection/inflammation (UTI). Urine analysis and a check up would be needed to confirm or rule out this clinical suspicion and give appropriate treatment. The UTI could come from the bladder, urethra, urethers or even kidneys. It is unlikely to be related to the genital tract.

Hello, sorry to hear about Delilah. It unusual for the veggies and blueberries to make her urine darker. Given that female dogs are more likely to UTIs, I would recommend having her checked for this to make sure she doesn't need antibiotics. Alternatively, you can continue to monitor her if she otherwise seems like her normal self, and if she has further episodes of dark colored urine, then have her seen by your veterinarian. There is a large variation in normal urine color, so we can't use that as a gauge to determine if anything medical is going on. We need to examine the urine microscopically to determine if there are any white blood cells, red blood cells, crystals or bacteria that may be abnormal in the urine. Unfortunately, we can't tell that by just looking at the urine. If Belle has urinated small spots 3 times, then I would recommend having your veterinarian examine a urine sample on her just to make sure everything is normal. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. It sounds like she should be seen by her veterinarian immediately to obtain some bloodwork and urine to rule these diseases out. I'm really glad to hear that Mugi is still eating and acting normally! Stool color can change with any different food (not even just orange foods) as a result of how the bile and gut bacteria shift in response. I definitely understand your concern because finding stool with orange and greenish coloration can seem a bit disconcerting. The good news is that there really isn't anything you need to worry about since Mugi otherwise seems so normal. Just continue to keep an eye on her and any other changes to her stool color. However, if she becomes lethargic, experiences a loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, or changes in her water consumption/urine volume, then it's worth taking a trip to the vet for evaluation to rule out other medical issues.
