How much do OFA hip/elbow exams for a mobility service dog cost?

Unfortunately knowing a dose for a drug requires knowing what drug was given. Also there are typically dose ranges and dose intervals that can vary per patient and per procedure. Also i am not sure what you are meaning by having an OFA done. OFA stands for Orthopedic Foundation for Animals which is an organization that breeders submit xrays of their pets joints for certification. Did your pet have xrays with sedation? The cost depends on the area you live in and if a board certified specialist is performing the procedure. I would say anywhere in the range of $2500 to $3500 as a rough estimate for one elbow. Again, this range can vary quite a bit depending on where you are and who is performing the procedure.

It is best to get a dog from a breeder that has breeding stock that is OFA certified. Whether or not the vet checks, shots, dewormer are included is up to you. Any dog, but especially a GSD, with hip dysplasia is going to cost you a lot of money and the dog a lot of pain. Go with the OFA tested parents regardless of the price.

Hello. Every veterinarian charges their own fees, there are no set figures. He will need an examination & possible x-rays.
