My rescue mama isn't eating or producing milk. Are her babies okay?

Make sure the kittens stay warm. If they are not nursing well or she is not producing milk then you can bottle feed them to help. She should be fed kitten food as it has more calories and nutrients to help her keep her weight up and produce enough milk

Poor Girl! Motherhood can be rough. Since it has been 3 days, I strongly recommend having your vet take a look at her. Since she is nursing, the kittens are depleting her of hydration and nutrients so waiting too long can make things worse. Having babies can mess up their blood values and cause issues. Your vet will likely run bloodwork. They will put her some meds that are safe for the nursing kittens if needed to help her feel better.

She may not be producing enough milk which could lead to dehydration or malnutrition of the kittens. Just like humans, there are many reasons Lana may not be interested in food and it is impossible to know without a physical exam. It's possible there are still kittens inside the uterus. Uterine infections are also possible. Unfortunately, both of these can be fatal without treatment. It's also possible this is something like a less severe infection but one cannot know without an exam. Have her examined today and bring the other kittens with her. If she is not feeding the kittens, you will need to take over. Ava is lovely! Weigh the kittens daily to make sure they are gaining weight. Feed Ava a kitten formulated food so she has extra calories, calcium, and protein to support feeding the kittens. If you cannot bring the puppies inside, I would suggest that you take them to an animal shelter. They need their mom for more than just food. They need her warmth and comfort, too, in order to have healthy psychological growth. Arya was too young, at nine months of age, to have a litter, and her maternal instincts have not kicked in yet. Somehow, you'll have to provide for these puppies what she is not willing to.

There are no signs of mastitis from those pictures but there is no way to know about milk production from the photo. If the kitten have not eaten in a week they wiukd not have made it this long so they are getting something. At that age you can syringe milk to them or try kitten food to wean them.
