Goodwinol ointment *may* treat demodectic mange in dogs. If you have any cats in the house, it should not be used in case a cat is accidentally exposed to it.
Ideally, Tom should be examined by your veterinarian to confirm mange infection and to discuss the best treatment.

IMHO, there are much better medications to combat mange. If your veterinarian has diagnosed mange in your dog he can prescribe Bravecto flea and tick preventive which will also kill demodex and sarcoptes mites. Do not use the Goodwinol near the eyes and any other mucous membranes without the advice of your veterinarian. Call your vet whether he thinks it is suitable for your dog's condition.
