Mites are species specific. This means human scabies mites cannot survive for long or breed on dogs. They may cross back and forth between you and your dog though. He may develop a rash from the mites. If he itches or chews, he could make it worse. Have him examined by your veterinarian to make sure Tripper doesn't need antibiotic treatment or medication to stop the itching.

Poor doggy. No mycoplasma is not contagious to other pets or people. Mycoplasma is transmitted through a flea bite and pets can be affected. This is not considered to be a zoonotic (contagious to people) disease although there was 1 reported case of a person getting infected after being scratched by a cat. But in general no it isn't easily transmissible to people. So essentially a flea that is infected will infect any other pets that are not protected by a monthly flea preventative. Not really, aspergillus stays contained in the sinuses of your dog and it also needs certain conditions to thrive in those sinuses, as well as a compromised immune system of the dog. Aspergillosis can be treated with flushing the sinuses with a fungicidal wash. In order to do so, your dog will need to be sedated and in most cases the vet will have to make an access ( trepanize a hole) through the bone above the sinus. This is a bit complicated but doable and the fungus can be killed off that way. So again, no, it is not possible to directly transfer aspergillosis from one dog to another.

Although dogs do get scabies, the species of skin mite that causes canine scabies is different from the one that causes human scabies. The mites are species-specific, so it's quite rare to see transmission from humans to dogs (or vice-versa) beyond a mild localized rash. But to be safe, I would suggest using a flea preventative such as Revolution or Advantage Multi on your dog that is effective against skin mites - this should ensure that you don't need to worry :)

Sarcoptic mange can actually cross species, but should not last long on humans. They may make you feel itchy for a little while, but will go away within 24 hours. I've had a great amount of exposure to dogs with sarcoptes and have had the transient itchiness on my arms too. It has never lasted more than a couple of hours on me. In the meantime, rinse your arms with some cool water and soap. Wash your sheets and consider not having close contact with your dog until the infestation is under control. If you are itching for more than 24 hours and have red spots on your arms, then you should consult your physician.

Ginger needs to be seen by a veterinarian for a diagnosis on what's going on with her skin, but if she is very itchy and if you have a rash that's similar to hers, I'd definitely recommend you both get that checked right away (you by your doctor, of course :-) ). There is a skin mite called sarcoptes that can infect a dog's skin and cause intense itching, and this mite can also be spread to people. Thankfully, if that's the case, it's easy to treat - but does require a prescription medication from the veterinarian. So, definitely have her checked as soon as possible. Hope this helps!
