Why is my dog losing nails, losing weight, and not acting herself?

I am sorry to hear about Atlanta. I would not say that rashes, hair loss, and brittle nails are normal. As far as whether it could threaten her health it depends on the underlying cause. For example, we can have autoimmune diseases that affect the skin and nails which can lead to more serious illness. I would recommend an examination by a veterinarian who is experienced in dermatology. They may recommend a variety of tests such as skin scrapes to check for mites, cytology and culture to test for bacteria/yeast/fungus, and in some severe cases biopsy of the skin. Treatment options will depend on their findings.

With the weight loss as well as the skin condition I would recommend a blood test to rule out internal diseases such as liver disease as well as a skin scrape and possible biopsy in order to fully investigate the underlying cause and to guide the most appropriate treatment

Hi, this looks like his nail has some injury to it but I can't be certain. It appears it may have been pulled or torn and is causing him some pain. Dogs who are in pain often don't act they way they do normally. I would take her to a vet to see if the nail needs to come off or if there is an infection you can treat with antibiotics. A skin scrape is needed to check for the presence of the mites that can cause mange. Changes in nail colors can be normal, but in some rare cases can indicate some nutritional deficiencies. Make sure Poseidon is fed a balanced commercial dog food so that he is receiving all appropriate vitamins and minerals. Ribs should be felt with a thin fat covering in dogs of a normal body weight, but should not be seen prominently. Your vet should be able to tell you if Poseidon's weight is appropriate at his next exam.

Cuty’s foot looks very irritated and abnormal. I’d worry that she has an infection or a tumor that has caused her nails to fall off. I would recommend having a vet examine her foot right away. They might recommend an x-ray of her foot.

Poor girl. With her losing hair and possible weight as well as no appetite, I am concerned about an internal illness with Maisie. I would definitely recommend starting with some bloodwork on her to check her organs (liver, kidneys) to see if we can determine the underlying problem. Once we know a bit more about her underlying condition, then hopefully we have some treatment options for her. Best case scenario is that Maisie just has a skin infection, which usually responds well to a short course of antibiotics/anti-fungals. I hoep that Maisie feels better soon!
