It's pretty rare that dogs actually get something stuck in the back of the throat. More likely her throat is irritated, or she has an infection like kennel cough. If the cough continues I'd recommend seeing your veterinarian: while it's difficult to see the very back of a dog's throat without sedation, your vet can help determine what is causing the cough.

I'm glad that you contacted your local vet already - even if they don't have availability today, I recommend scheduling the earliest opening they have to get Louis examined. With his history of going to doggy daycare, his age, the comment from your vet that they've been seeing other cases recently, and Louis' symptoms, this sounds like it may be kennel cough. Until Louis is seen by your vet, keep him away from other dogs as he is likely contagious. Kennel cough can be caused by either a virus or a bacteria, but your vet may decide to start him on an antibiotic if they suspect it may be a bacterial cause such as bordetella. As long as Louis is acting bright and happy at home, and eating normally, then this isn't an emergency and can wait until your vet is available. However, if at any point you notice Louis becoming lethargic, his breathing becomes exaggerated or labored, or if he loses his appetite, then you should bring him in to an emergency clinic if your primary vet can't fit him in sooner, to make sure he's not developing something more concerning such as a secondary pneumonia. There are other things that can cause coughing in dogs, such as parasites, allergies, and heart problems, but I would rate these much lower on the list of concerns. Hope this helps!

I am sorry to hear that Brownie is nkt well. From what you are describing and the picture you provided I would be concerned that Brownie has kennel cough. This is a highly contagious respiratory disease passed between dogs. It is particularly common in shelters and kennels. It is caused by a virus, and is usually self limiting in a few weeks. However, it is also possible to get a Bacterial infection in conjunction with the virus. If you also notice creamy discharge this is likely. I would suggest taking Brownie to the veterinarian to have him examined and have an antibiotic prescribed. From the description of the cough for Marshall it sounds like kennel cough. Kennel cough can sound like a honking cough or a hacking noise and can occur at any random time but more frequently when excited or with exercise. Other reasons for cough with Marshall can be: parasite infection allergies pneumonia (much less likely) inhaled foreign body (much less likely) I would recommend to keep him away from other dogs while he is coughing in case he has kennel cough and is contagious. If his cough persists and/or worsens, stops eating, or acts lethargic, please schedule an appointment with his veterinarian so they can examine him and determine the cause of his cough.

This could be an upper respiratory infection such as kennel cough , but could also be a sign of heart disease, especially if Chico is an older dog. Another very likely possibility is that Chico has a collapsed trachea. You will need to take Chico to your vet for an exam and x-rays (which will rule out collapsed trachea and lung edema caused by congestive heart failure).
