My pet's lanced cyst: What home care instructions should I follow?

I would clean this using a combined solution of water and betadine (mix until light brown) and keep the area clean. The cyst will likely close back up now that it has ruptured. If it continues to drain material or becomes infected, then I would have a veterinarian take a look at this and plan to have it removed. I hope this helps! I actually saw a very similar case at the office today. Those growths could be benign or malignant, but I would highly encourage you to have a follow up appointment with your veterinarian soon. I would not recommend popping this at home as it may bleed heavily and it may become infected. Please, take Chapo to your local vets to examine the lump and to decide what will be the best course of treatment.

They may be able in this case to remove the tissue around it so that it stops bothering him. Another alternative is to treat it medically with antibiotics. If it is a cyst and it keeps growing I would recommend removing it with surgery. Cysts can get bigger and rupture and get infected after they rupture. The only way to get rid of a cyst is to actually surgically remove it. It may rupture and get smaller but it will not actually go away.
