Dog just had puppies, showing labor signs again. Is this normal?

If you have not had a veterinarian take x-rays to determine how many puppies are left you should take her to your veterinarian or an emergency hospital to make sure all puppies are out. She could still be in labor. Low calcium would be another possibility. This could also be a behavioral change. I would not be too concerned about no afterbirth or placentas - it is fairly rare for them to cause a problem when retained.

When a dog is having active contractions, and it's been more than four hours since the last puppy came and you believe there are more, this is a medical emergency, and Daisy has to see a vet right away. 56 days is a bit early, but it is possible she could be in labor, or closer to her due date than thought. Signs of labor can include visible contractions, changes in body temperature, lack of appetite, and waxing of the nipples (producing a milk substance). I would keep an eye on her, and if she doesn't have any puppies within a few hours of signs of labor, or she seems in great distress/is extremely exhausted take her into your vet ASAP for care to make sure there isn't a stuck puppy or other illness or complication causing her early symptoms.

How lovely that Chloe had 11 live puppies! I would have her checked out by a vet as soon as possible. It's not normal that she delivered another puppy 12 hours after her other puppies, and I would be concerned that there may be more yet to be born. It's best to be safe and have her checked out. Some discharge and bleeding is normal during labor as the puppies come out. However if Lady is bleeding without being in labor, straining and in labor for several hours without producing a puppy, or seems extremely exhausted or in distress, it would be best to seek veterinary care immediately.

I am sorry to hear about your concern for Leah. We normally do not see more than 4 hours pass between puppies, so it is concerning that she had so much time between the puppies. If you do not know how many puppies to expect (you didn't have an x-ray taken to count puppies) the safest course of action would be to have her vet examine her to be certain there aren't remaining puppies that need to be removed. I am very worried about Bebe. If she hasn't had any puppies for 6 hours, but still has puppies inside, I would definitely recommend to take her to a veterinarian. Sometimes a puppy can be stuck in the birth canal or the mom gets so tired from pushing that her uterus is no longer able to contract to push the puppies out. Both of these situations are dangerous for the puppies and Bebe. The veterinarian will examine her to see if there is a puppy stuck in the birth canal and will most likely recommend taking and x-ray to see how many puppies she still has inside. Depending on what they find, they may recommend doing a c-section. In most cases, this is the only way to try and save the mother and the puppies. I am so sorry. I know this is a very scary situation.
