What's that hole near my dog's anus? Is it a parasite? What to do?

Updated on September 23, 2025

Parasite has burrowed a hole in our dog's rear end proximal to her anus. What kind of parasite might this be and what can we do to treat it?

If it is a parasite, your will likely need to be sedated to have this removed. Therefore, you need to take your pet to a veterinarian for an exam. Also, keep in mind, it may not be a parasite. It could be an abscess or a mass.
