My old dog with heart problems isn't eating and struggles to breathe.

There isn't any first aid for difficulty breathing. In dogs, a change in respiratory rate or effort can be caused by heart issues, lung disease, anemia, infection, pain, some metabolic disorders, among many others. Pons needs to see a vet as soon as possible for evaluation and to determine the cause of the difficult breathing. The vet will do an examination and may recommend blood work and x-rays to fully evaluate internal organs and their function.

Daljais experiencing very general symptoms of disease, these symptoms could fit almost any internal condition, maybe she is suffering from nausea due to a gastrointestinal disease and maybe she is in pain, from the symptoms described it's very hard to know. i would recommend taking her to the vet urgently in order to get her checked, if she doesn't show any other obvious symptoms during the examination, a blood test and possibly an ultrasound will be needed in order to try and find out what is wrong with Dalja.

I'm so sorry Duke is having heart and lung problems! I am very concerned that he has not eaten for several days and has no energy. He may potentially have something else going on besides his previously diagnosed heart and lung issues. I would recommend you take him back in to your vet as soon as possible to be evaluated. Often with heart disease, dogs need a combination of medication, including furosemide and pimobendan (the cardisure), and potentially a blood pressure medication. If he is not eating he may need more aggressive treatment and potentially injectable medication. He also may need another x-ray to see how his lungs look. He may need blood work to make sure his kidneys are okay as well as check his electrolytes. Again, I'm so sorry Duke doesn't feel well. Heart disease can be difficult to manage and is progressive, so over time medications sometimes have to be adjusted and/or dosages changed. I hope he starts feeling better soon. Poor Ruka sounds very ill at the moment. Anorexia (not eating) is a very general sign of many illnesses, which could be caused by dental problems, systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. She could have have a hard time breathing because she has a respiratory infection or cardiac disease. Being quite sick would lead her to seem very weak. I strongly recommend a vet visit as soon as possible for her. The vet can diagnose what is causing her symptoms, and can treat her for it. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Poor Dexter. Unfortunately this can be part of the disease. I would take him into the vet to see if you can get an appetite stimulant prescribed to see if that helps. If it does not, then it would likely be time to consider letting him go. I'm sorry.

Hi. Is your pet on medications for heart failure? If so, and still coughing, your veterinarian may need to reassess xrays and possibly increase doses of medication. Prognosis for heart failure is guarded to poor. I'm sorry she isn't feeling well

Lassie needs to see a veterinarian as soon as possible. With the symptoms you are describing she may have a serious illness going on with her. I highly recommend taking her to a veterinarian.
