What's causing my dog's hard eye lump, sore eyes, and drowsiness?

It sounds like Lucy has an eye infection at the very least. There are many knock on issues that can occur in eyes so it would be best to have her examined by a vet in case there is any serious damage. In the case of infection she will need to have the eyes gently cleaned with sterile water then antibiotic eye drops applied. I would urge you to speak to a local vet regarding this though.

Poor Nita! If it cleared up with the antibiotic it sounds like it is an infection. Your vet may need to prescribe an antibiotic again and treat for a longer period of time. Your vet may also need to get a culture or biopsy to determine the exact cause. Hope she gets better soon!

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Bumps on eye-lids can be cysts, but they can also be other masses like tumors. For this reason getting it checked is recommended. In the mean-time, I would check for squinting, moving away from your hand when you go to pet him on that side of the face, redness/blueness/whiteness of the eye-ball itself that is different from the other eye, or scratching/pawing at the eye. If any of these are occuring, then I would take Marley to a vet. If he isn't too concerned about it, and isn't squinting or moving away from you, and is only minimally pawing at it, then I would recommend getting an E-collar (you can pick one up from any emergency clinic without an appointment as it is now late in Australia), to prevent ongoing trauma to the eye which can get much much worse with scratching. I would then get Marley to your vet in the morning. Best of luck with Marley.

Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! Poor Daisy! From your picture, it appears as though Daisy's eye lid is swollen in corner (by her nose). This can be from an infection or an allergic reaction. If she is squinting her eye, keeping it closed, rubbing it, the eye is producing green-yellow discharge I recommend she be seen today. If not make an appointment to have her seen Monday. The vast majority of eyelid masses are benign, but it sounds as though Jasper's mass is causing some irritation to his eye given the redness and discharge. It sounds as though he should be examined by his vet and will likely need to have the mass removed. If Jasper seems to be scratching at his eye or rubbing it on anything, make sure that he is wearing an e-collar (cone) to prevent injury to the eye itself. I hope that he is on the mend soon!

Without a picture or examining Laila it's difficult to say what is going on for sure. Dogs can get small tumors on their eyelids called meibomian gland tumors and normally these are benign. However, I'm a little concerned that it has gotten larger overnight. It could also be an area of infection or a more serious tumor type. If you can post a picture of Laila it may be helpful to give you further advice. If not, it would be best to err on the side of caution and have Laila examined by your veterinarian. I am afraid that this red mass looks like a tumor or multicystic mass. This is definitely something that needs to be seen by a vet as it a) keeps your dog from closing his eye lid which can damage the eye to the point of losing vision (will dry out the cornea), and b), tumors can grow invasively, ie destroy the eye. Your vet will examine the mass, possibly take a little bit of tissue to examine under the microscope or send in to a pathology lab and then, depending on the findings, discuss treatment options, which could include removal of the mass alone (if possible), medication to remove it or make it shrink, or even removal of the eye.
