How can I make my dog's gums healthy? What to do for a snout bite?

I am sorry to hear about Simba! I would recommend an examination by a veterinarian if Simba has had this lesion for 5 days with no improvement. It is difficult to say without being able to see Simba in person, but it is possible this could be what is called a cuterebra which is a fly larvae which embeds within the skin causing a small nodule with a central pore where the larvae can be seen (in this image it almost looks like I can see the larvae in the center of this photo but as I said, since it is a photo we can't say for certain). Other things we would worry about would include a small infected nodule, a ringworm infection causing a small granuloma, or a growth called a histiocytoma. I would clean the area with a mild soap and apply a topical antibiotic such as neosporin, and call your vet when they open next for an appointment.

It looks as if Simba is having an allergic reaction to something. If you are unable to get Simba to a vet for treatment you can try to give him some benedryl, at a dose of 1mg/pound. This may help decrease the swelling and help stop the reaction. If Simba begins to have trouble breathing, starts vomiting or having diarrhea, this means that the allergic reaction is more severe and he will need to be seen by a vet immediately. This looks like a normal color for gums. They should be pink. The thinned hair may just be him aging but if it is itching or if there are any scabs or getting worse, I would have your vet take a look to ensure it doesn’t need any treatment. I hope this helps!

This could be normal pigmentation in the gums. You can keep an eye on it now that your are brushing Snoopy's teeth daily. If it begins to grow or change rapidly, then he should be seen by your veterinarian.

I see what you mean about Spotzy and the tint. It could be a sign of damage to the gums or a sign of dental disease. Without seeing him in person, I can't say for certain what is going on with him. Poor Simba. He has gingivitis and a lot of tartar on his teeth.. This actually causes a tooth ache and can cause bacterial infections of the heart and the kidneys. You should schedule a dental cleaning for Simba, which will remove this tartar and the bad bacteria living in the pores or the tartar and it will also take out the inflammation from his gums.

It sounds like he needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible. The swelling still being there after 2-3 days along with changes in breathing now can be signs of an reaction. The dark discoloration changes can indicate a change in blood supply to certain areas which is possible with snake or spider bites. A vet can see what medications will be best to help!
