You can try her on a bland diet of white meat and rice or Hill’ s gastro-intestinal formula for a couple of days, and some probiotics such as Canikur or Protekin Prokolin and see if things settle over the next 3-4 days. If she should still pass soft feaces then it’s best you bring in a feacal sample to your vet to be examined for parasites and bacteria.

Stool color can be altered by changes in food, especially if colors are added by the manufacturer, intestinal parasites, and intestinal bleeding. Intestinal bleeding can be caused by ulcers, parasites, or conditions such as IBD. This changes the color of the stool due to products of blood digestion, which are black to dark green in color. Kidney conditions can cause gastric ulcers as certain toxic compounds build up in the body and alter acid production of the stomach. The green color is likely dye from something your pet ingested. I recommend monitoring the stool to see if it changes back to normal color within the next day or two .Chances are it will. Also monitor Pickles a bit more closely to make sure he isn't ingesting something he shouldn't have. If he starts to have any other symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy or decreased appetite, then its best to have him seen by your local vet. Also, if there is any chance Pickles could have gotten into some kind of rat poison/bait, then he should be seen right away. It wouldn't be a bad idea also to go ahead and give Pickles a probiotic to support a healthy GI tract moving forward. Some options that don't require a prescription are: Culturelle (over the counter) OR Foriflora (online, Chewy.com). I hope that Pickles stool returns to normal color soon. Unfortunately a diagnosis can’t be made on stool color alone. Testing for intestinal parasite, liver disease, and issues with intestinal absorption would be warranted. Barley and cottage cheese don’t make up a completely balanced diet, and the lack of certain minerals in the diet can lead to stool color changes. Once your vet has a better idea of what may be going in internally, they can recommend a special diet or have you consult a nutritionist to formulate a balanced homemade diet.

It is most likely due to the food change. Puppies can also have intestinal parasites, so it is always recommended to have a stool sample checked on Kylo. Your veterinarian can also give medication to help resolve the stool quicker and easier. They also can dispense a bland diet to help resolve it. These signs could be compatible with an infective gastroenteritis and, considering his very young age, I would recommend to have him checked as diet correction and specific treatment based on antibiotics may be needed.

This can be caused by many factors including worms, a foreign object (ball, underwear, socks) that is bouncing around in his stomach, allergies to the food you are feeding, or problems with his guts including irritable bowel disease, pancreatic insufficiency, or other causes. I would recommend with starting with a dewormer, you can pick this up at your vet. If this doesn't work I would suggest bringing Kilo to the vet to have the feces tested and an exam of Kilo performed. Best of luck with Kilo.
