My dog keeps eating coriander. Is it safe for him in large amounts?

Updated on September 23, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Border Collie | Male | neutered | 6 months and 10 days old | 50 lbs

Loki keeps getting into the garden and eating lots of our coriander (we have lots) I heard it's non toxic for him but surely not good in large amounts

You are correct that it is not toxic, but eating too much might cause some GI upset. I would fence off the garden if you can to keep Loki out of it. If you do see any GI upset, withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet.
