The reason for this is because in many cases, dogs can require many tooth extractions which is both tedious and time consuming. This will extend anesthesia time and thus the cost of the procedure. As far as the mass on the eye, depending on the location, this would be something that could be removed while under anesthesia for the dental procedure. The price of surgery and submitting the masses for biopsy are hospital and regional dependent. I recommend finding a vet for an exam and to obtain an estimate. Where I work (notoriously inexpensive) it would cost about $500-600 to just remove it (guess with out seeing a picture) and the biopsy would be an additional $165 for one mass. I wish you the best.

This can be a very complicated answer. Typically if you already have a veterinarian established then the price may not be as high especially if they have seen your pet for the ear infection before. However typically you have to include these things in the overall price 1) Office visit/exam (ranges from $29-$75)- call first to get this information over the phone 2) Sedative - typically these range about $30-$50 depending on which sedative the doctor chooses to use 3) Ear cleaning procedure- ranges from $25-$40 depending on how bad the ears are. Costs will vary greatly depending on the area you live in and the clinic you go to, as well as factors like the size and location of the lumps, overall difficulty of the procedure, etc. So this would be a question to ask the veterinarian who is going to perform the surgery - their staff should be happy to give you a detailed estimate for the costs involved. Some types of masses do get bigger and smaller over time. Your veterinarian should be able to explain why has been happening after the masses are sent off for histopath to find out what they are.

In fact, since it has doubled in size and is also open and oozing now, I would consider it even more important to have it surgically removed. It would also be best to have this mass sent off for histopathology to find out if it is cancerous or not, especially given its recent rapid growth.

Depending on what part of the ear is being removed will largely determine the recovery time. If just the pinna (the outer external portion) is being remove, while this can be a blood procedure Joey will likely be discharged from the hospital the same day. If your vet is performing a full ear ablation and removal of the ear canal, this is a much more involved procedure that will likely require 1-2 days of hospitalization post operatively. One of the major concerns of this procedure include nerve damage that can result in difficulty with balance as well as paralysis of the certain parts of the face. This can result in some difficulty eating, nausea, and drooping of the cheeks / lips. Joey will have to wear an e-collar for at least a week after the procedure in order to prevent the sutures or staples from being ripped out. He will likely be provided with pain medication, anti inflammatory meds, antibiotics, and possibly anti nasuea / motion sickness medication. In general, dogs recover from surgical procedures much more quickly than do people. Joey will probably be back to her normal self within a few days (in terms of energy level) of the procedure assuming there are not significant complications with the procedure.
