My dog is crying, won't walk, and has no appetite. What's wrong?

Poor Girl! Without seeing her, I cannot say whether or not it is serious, but I am definitely concerned. She could have gotten bit by something or broken a bone and be in a lot of pain, both of which could make her not want to eat. I would try to have her seen by your vet as soon as possible so they can determine what is wrong before she gets any worse. I worry if she got bit by something poisonous that it may be more difficult to treat later if she gets worse. Your vet will be able to do blood work and even x-rays if needed to help her feel better. Hello. These are pretty vague signs, but could be an indication of some pain, such as an inflamed intervertebral disc, or impending infection. Without knowing the underlying cause, we cannot recommend a specific treatment. The whining and inactivity are very general symptoms with multiple causes. Look her over for signs of injury or infection. This may include redness, swelling, bruising, bleeding or lameness. Make sure she is warm, fed and doesn't need to go out. If the symptoms persist or worsen, have her physically examined by your veterinarian.

I’m so sorry to hear about your pup! It sounds as though she could be in pain. I highly recommend seeing your vet to have a good evaluation done (back and neck pain are not always obvious). I would not give anything over the counter for pain until your vet has ruled out abdominal discomfort (aspirin,etc can make stomach conditions worse). Best of luck to you and your dog!

Lethargy and inappetance are nonspecific signs in dogs, meaning that they can be caused by many underlying conditions. Your veterinarian can perform an examination and discuss the need for other diagnostics such as systemic bloodwork and possibly X-rays to look for any signs of pneumonia or abnormalities within her abdomen. The symptoms you are describing can be caused by many things and would be best to have a veterinarian perform Diagnostics to rule out different causes. I would be concerned about a foreign body obstruction, systemic disease or infection, or trauma-related. Since Beki is exhibiting a variety of symptoms (not eating and walking abnormally) I would recommend you take her to the veterinarian to be checked out. She could be suffering from back/spinal pain or abdominal pain from something like pancreatitis. A physical examination by your veterinarian will help determine the cause of her discomfort.
