Can i feed my Pomeranian ground organic flex seeds, he eats balance dog food with raw carrors and zucchini. But he poops only once in 2 days. His poop is formed and normal. Yes, you can feed him small amounts of ground flax, however, realize, that some dogs don't necessarily poop every day, especially if they eat high quality low residue food. If his poop is well formed, not hard as a rock, and your dog is happy, healthy, eating and drinking, then there is no need to feed extra fiber.

  • Yes you can but this won't help much with the constipation which, if lasts no more than two days can usually be resolved at home with increased fiber and hydration. Canned pumpkin (not pie filling, just the straight-up pumpkin) or liquid paraffin can be used, and should work straight away in the following 8 hours from administration. DO NOT TRY to give an enema as it could be dangerous and cause electrolyte imbalances and colon perforation.
If constipation lasts more than 24 hours from administration of those or 48 hours in general, a check up at your local vet is required.
