My dog's eyes are better, but is it conjunctivitis? What should I do?

Considering the pictures you uploaded this seems a mild conjunctivitis that could potentially resolve spontaneously. I would recommend just wipe the discharge gently with a wet cotton swab and apply some simple sterile saline solution (you can buy ocular ones over the counter). If the signs do not resolve in 3 days a check up would be required though as antibiotic eye drops may be needed.

It is difficult to give advice without actually seeing the eye. You are welcome to post again with a photo if you'd like. That being said, as long as she is not pawing at the eye, scratching at it or squinting then you can probably wait until your vet opens again to take her for a recheck exam. Continue to put the medications in as prescribed. If you are noticing squinting or that the eye is actually bothering her then you need to get her to a vet ASAP for an exam. Hope this helps. It is really difficult to tell from this photo and the one directional view of the shadow in question; however, I would assume this isn’t pannus because there are no other symptoms of pannus (i.e. conjunctivitis, or any vasculariztion (red blood vessels leading to this spot) that I can see and the photo isn’t very convincing. However, I would suggest taking 3 more photos at different angles and not changing anything about the photo or this can lead to distortion,m. The eye in this photo looks almost cartoony and hard to decifer what other possible things this could be. We look forward to your repost and best of luck getting some good shots. It appears that she has an eye infection, and yes you should take her into the vet. Any eye problem needs to be checked out by a vet promptly as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would take her into the vet in the morning. I hope this helps!

Hello there, Thanks for the good photo. Good work with the benadryl and saline eye flush- those are great first steps. She is likely fine to wait to see her regular veterinarian, as long as she still has energy and an appetite. It appears like her face may have some muscular muscle wasting that is allowing her eyes to protrude more. There are a few things that can cause this- your vet will be able to tell you more after a good physical exam. I'd get her in to see someone this week for sure.

I think this looks a little like cherry eye, or a prolapse of the gland on the third eyelid, as well but it's difficult to tell for certain from a picture. There is nothing specific to do at home - sometimes a veterinarian will try gently replacing the gland with a numbing drop and sterile cotton swab but this isn't something I'd attempt at home. You could use an artificial tear ointment to help lubricate the eye for comfort until you can see a vet. If Krypto is squinting, if the eye begins to look more red, or if you notice yellow or green discharge I'd recommend seeing a vet.
