My chihuahua mix has a clear blister on its face. What is this growth?

This could be a benign growth, a cyst, or it may be from a foreign body that has lodged in Luna's foot. I do think it's worth getting checked out by a vet, but it's not an emergency. Give her vet a call to see when you can get her in to get it examined. I hope this helps!

I’m not sure if there was supposed to be a photograph attached to your post, but that would be helpful. Red raised masses can be something like infection or an ingrown hair. They can also be more indicative of a skin tumor. Of the skin tumors, most are benign but there is one called a mast cell tumor which is cancerous and needs to be removed quickly. When in doubt, I always recommend to have any type of skin mass examined by the veterinarian. Sometimes they can tell what it is based on exam. But just like with humans, not all skin tumors can be identified just by looking. The doctor may need to aspirate some of the cells to look under the microscope. That is the only way to accurately know what kind of tumor it is. I always recommend to play it safe with something like this! This looks like a small sebaceous cyst and the black part is the content. They are usually benign and no treatment is commonly required. A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is essential to confirm this clinical suspicion.

Hello! It’s hard to say what type of growth TJ has without seeing it but if it drained clear fluid it may just be a cyst. I would keep and eye on it and if it comes back or grows, I’d recommend having your vet test it and give you a diagnosis of what it is and tell you if it needs to be removed. This could just be a cyst from the looks of it. Monitor it for the next week or so to see if it spontaneously regresses. IF it does not resolve on its own, or seems to bother Tia at any point, then its best to have your vet take a look at it. If it gets bigger it can then be sampled to determine what kind of growth it is, so that we know whether to worry about it or not. I do hope that Tia's growth resolves soon! Best wishes and take care.
