My dog has bumps like hives after a flea bath. Should I worry?

Yes this could be the cause. This is probably an allergic reaction , these reactions tend to resolve within 48 hours without treatment. if the swelling becomes too large or if your dog is lethargic, take her to the vet in order to get an antihistamine injection.

These look like an acute allergic reaction to something she has come in contact with or insect bites and would be expected to resolve uneventfully. Monitor for any distress or breathing difficulties but these are very rare

Hello. Harley is having a significant allergic reaction, possibly from the shampoo, possibly from something else. You may have inadvertently left some shampoo on his skin & coat, so I would rebathe him in lukewarm water & no soap. Make sure you rinse multiple times to make sure all shampoo is removed. If he is not uncomfortable, you can just watch him as it may take a day or two for the bumps to subside. If he is very itchy or uncomfortable & chewing at his skin, please see your veterinarian. If these just arose out of nowhere I would be concerned they are hives and she is having an allergic reaction. Since they are on her face, I would consider this an emergency, so it would be recommended to take her in to the emergency clinic right away, where they can give her a shot of benadryl and a steroid shot to stop the reaction. In severe cases of allergic reactions the face can continue to swell and the swelling can extend to the airway, becoming life threatening, and we don't want that to happen!

I am sorry to hear of your concerns for Athena. You could be dealing with any number of issues for her unfortunately, ranging from a skin infection (bacterial or fungal) to a condition known as demodectic mange. Without being able to perform and exam and some testing it is difficult to say what you are dealing with for her. I would recommend continuing with the Advantix each month, was her bedding and clean her kennel regularly, and consider trying an oatmeal based shampoo if there seems to be any itching associated with the hairless patches. Have you looked into a vet that makes house visits? This may be a good option for you if Athena is too strong for you to handle in a regular clinic situation. A house call vet would be able to come and do an exam, perform some testing on Athena's skin, and hopefully give you a better idea of what is going on.

They look like hives. She likely was bite by a bug and is experiencing an allergic reaction. I recommend you have her seen by your veterinarian to examine the areas and determine if medications are needed if the hives last longer than 2 hours or if you notice vomiting, diarrhea, facial swelling, or worsening hives.

This is usually an allergic reaction and I would suspect some kind of bug bit her causing the reaction. You can give her Benadryl every 8 hours for the reaction. If it’s not helping, you should take her to the vet for stronger medications. She should no longer be nursing but it is safe for the babies. Also, the reaction isn’t contagious so I wouldn’t worry about them. Good luck and kisses to Aspen and her babies!
