My puppy chewed package tape. Why hasn't she pooped all day?

I would continue to watch Midnight. If she ate part of a bedsheet that gets stuck in her small intestine, dogs will often be lethargic, have a decreased appetite, belly pain, or vomiting. Sometimes things like a sheet will move slowly through the intestines, and it could take 3-5 days to come out. If the dog is feeling ill, then often IV fluids and enemas can help it pass a little faster. If the dog is very ill, then surgery would be needed to remove the obstruction.

Congratulations on your new puppy! If Bella is acting completely normal otherwise and defecated a large amount yesterday, I wouldn't be too concerned. It is common for puppies to take some time to regulate their bathroom habits after changing homes and/or changing foods. If you do notice signs of illness (vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, poor appetite), then I would recommend taking her to the vet for an exam.

It's not uncommon for a dog not to poop for a day or two after they have had diarrhea. I wouldn't get too worried about Daphne just yet, and it's good that the diarrhea has stopped, she's well hydrated, and is eating. Just keep an eye on her, and if she doesn't poop in another 24-48 hours, then I would be worried and have her seen by vet. Hopefully, however, she will come right in another day :-)

I wouldn't be too worried just yet. She would not have been able to eat before her spay due to the anesthesia, so she has no food in her system to poop out. Certain medications can also cause a decrease in pooping. I would not worry about this unless 72 hours go by without her pooping. She should return to normal soon. I hope this helps.

Keep an eye on him today and tonight and if he hasn't pooped or peed by tomorrow morning, then I would be worried. At that point, I would take him into the vet. Make sure he keeps eating and drinking. If he becomes very lethargic, starts vomiting, or stops eating or drinking before tomorrow morning, then I would rush him into a vet immediately. It depends! Some dogs will do fine, others won't. If there is a vet close, I would recommend inducing vomiting in a vet clinic because if it comes up, then there is nothing to worry about! If not, then watch closely over then next 1-2 weeks for signs of obstruction, including decreased appetite, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, etc.

Given that Snowball has eaten twice since and isn't vomiting, I would monitor her for signs an obstruction to be safe. It can take a couple of days for signs to be seen which include vomiting, anorexia, diarrhea, not pooping, and severe lethargy. If you see any of those signs, take her into a vet right away. Otherwise if you don't see any of those signs, she will be just fine. Best of luck!
