My dog ate leche flan. Should I be worried about him getting sick?

The fudge may cause some gastrointestinal upset so monitor him for any vomiting and diarrhea. You could feed a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice if you notice any GI signs. If he experiences any lethargy or persistent vomiting and diarrhea, then he should be examined by your vet.

As long as there is no xylitol, the worst you may see is some minor stomach upset (vomiting or diarrhea). As long as Charlie is behaving normally, you should be fine. Minor stomach upset can typically be managed at home with a short fast followed by a bland diet fed in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. Transition slowly to the regular diet afterwards. Symptoms that should be addressed by your veterinarian may include: persistent or worsening stomach upset, loss of appetite, abdominal pain or lethargy.

Pepe will likely be fine unless he is unusually sensitive. White chocolate has the lowest concentration of the chocolates. He may experience some vomiting or diarrhea or he may have no signs at all. To be safe, watch for signs of toxicity such as tremoring, seizures and hyper excitability. If you want to be proactive in regards to possible GI upset, you can feed him a bland diet of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% plain boiled white rice tonight and tomorrow morning. Flour in itself does not tend to cause any issues though depending on the amount ingested, he may experience increased thirst and possibly some gastrointestinal signs such as vomiting, diarrhea and/or loss of appetite. Noodles, meat, cheese, and tomato sauce are not toxic to dogs, so I would not expect this to cause any serious problems :) She may have a mild upset stomach for the next day or so if she isn't used to human food like this, but otherwise she should be just fine.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I’m not terribly concerned about this. There is not enough chocolate to really affect a dog this size. Possible concerns would be an obstruction from the wrappers if he ate those too OR pancreatitis flare up if there is alot of fat in those cakes. Otherwise, I’d monitor for vomiting and diarrhea. It should resolve over the next 2-3 days with her continuing to eat her usual diet. I would avoid any human food or other dog treats for the next few days. Otherwise, she should be OK!
