My dog ate baby aspirin. Is 81mg too much? How do I stop begging?

Updated on September 23, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Bichon Frise | Male | neutered | 4 months and 19 days old | 7.8 lbs

My dog ate 1 baby aspirin (81 mg) ... will be okay? He has been begging for food lately and took the baby aspirin right off the coffee table. How do we prevent the begging behavior??

81 mg is the double dose of aspirin for a dog weighing 6lbs. Please take Guido to a Pet ER now so they can make him regurgitate the aspirin before it gets completely absorbed, .
Do not leave tablet lying around as he will do it again.
Begging behavior is usually stopped by NEVER giving treats or food from a human hand and only feeding from the bow;. He also need to learn the word NO.
