How much sleep should my Cavapoo puppy get, and what about adult dogs?

Puppies generally sleep a lot, most days between 14-18 hours, this is quite normal but if you see other symptoms such as lethargy or lack of appetite then something might be wrong with Aira, in that case you should take her to the vet for a checkup.

There are periods of playing as well however they spend a long time during the day sleeping. At such young age dogs tend to spend a lot of times sleeping and commonly alternate intense activity, like playing, with many hours of sleep. 12 hours a day sleeping is not uncommon at all. If there are no other signs a part from what you reported, there is nothing to be worried about at this stage.

Puppies need a lot of sleep just like human babies do and will change as Sugar gets older. As long as Sugar is normal otherwise (is eating and drinking normally, has normal stool and urine, etc), I wouldn't worry too much. I hope this helps!

I would expect a 7 month old pup to be able to rest in a crate for a full 6-8 hours without problems. I'm glad she's resting. Could there be something that happens to get her worked up at the three hour mark? Like the mail truck coming at roughly the same time every day? The timed release toy machine can help no matter what the problem is (as long as she doesn't try to destroy it, which would be both frustrating and very expensive).

Oreo is very cute! He needs to be eating a puppy formulated food, as puppies need higher amounts of protein, calories, and calcium than adult dogs. Brands I recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. Puppies do tend to sleep a lot because they are growing quite quickly in a relatively short period of time. A puppy can sleep up to 18-19 hours a day. If Oreo is sleeping this much, it's not that he's being lazy, it's normal.
