Are 5 week old morkies supposed to weigh 1.8 pounds? We just got a 5 week old maltise and yorkie and we need to know how to take care of it please. How do we take care of it and make sure its healthy?

Five weeks old is too young for a small breed dog to be taken away from it's mother. They should stay with their mother until 8 weeks of age. Why was he take away so young? These tiny dogs get hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) very easily which can be life-threatening. They also don't regulate their temperature well and can become easily chilled. I suggest you find a local vet and go there for a consultation. They can give you all the information you need. He is very tiny at 1.8 pounds but that is probably a normal weight for this breed at this age. This is not really a great situation. You need a good relationship with your local vet.
