My pregnant cat is throwing up. Are pumpkin seeds and baths safe?

Decreased appetite is normal in the later stages of pregnancy. So no worries there, as long as she is eating portions of her food. Loose stool can also occur, but should return to normal after a few days, and she should still have normal energy level and not hide. Hiding in cats, when they typically are social cats, is usually an indicator that something is wrong. I would see how she does in the next day or two, and if the diarrhea does not resolve, then have her stools checked by your vet. Hi, and thanks for your question. This may be caused by the space occupying kittens pushing on abdominal organs. I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days but you can keep the meals in small portions. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. Oh my, poor kitty. The vomiting is likely due to very little space in the abdomen and when the kittens move they activate the pressure receptors of the stomach which then thinks it is too full, and then empties itself. You need to feed her good quality kitten food, preferably canned and feed her small amounts over several feeds (I would feed her daily ration split over 4 feeds/day). Once she had the kittens, you can reduce that to three times/day. This should help her gain weight again.

I'm sorry Mago isn't feeling well at the moment! It's good that she has been eating and drinking normally, but it is concerning that she is coughing, throwing up mucus, and wheezing. Because her health is so important for her kittens, I would have her seen by a vet in the morning. The vet can prescribe medications if needed to treat her symptoms. I hope this helps!

Poor Ginger. The pregnancy itself can be stressful to your pets body and cause some diarrhea to occur. However it should resolve within a day or two if stress alone is the cause. If it doesn't improve or resolve then she may have intestinal parasites causing this. Try adding 1-2 tsp of canned pumpkin (not the filling) to her food daily to add fiber and encourage hard stool formation. If things don't get better then reach out to your vet to see if they will would like to see her (depending on how late stage she is) for treatment of the diarrhea. Nothing can happen through the skin please don' t worry. However, you always need to wash your hands and wear gloves when you handle his litter tray or your clothes which have diarrhoea on it. Make sure the house is clean etc normal hygiene rules. I would recommend to have him checked over so his diarrhoea can be treated, and he can be neutered, wormed so that everything is in order for when the baby arrives.

I wouldn't expect pumpkin puree to make Lio vomit occasionally, unless he's eating his food too fast or is eating too much. He could also have a GI illness, hairballs, may have eaten something rotten, or intestinal parasites among other causes leading him to vomit. I would Lio seen by a vet for this to make sure there isn't a medical cause behind his occasional vomiting.
