My male cat pees while sleeping. Is it marking or a health issue?

Snupe could be yeowling because he wants to go roaming for females with which to mate, and he may be marking his territory with urine. I'd have him seen by a vet for this problem, and get him neutered.

Sometimes, cats will return to the same location where they have had an accident previously and continue to urinate there - this is often because there is still some lingering odor that they can smell, which acts as a signpost saying "pee here!" I see Storm isn't neutered. Male intact cats often mark their territory with their urine, and that may be what he is doing. It could also be he has feline idiopathic cystitis or bladder stones. However, this is a very rare problem to see in male cats; so we would not want to assume that something like that would help if there is an underlying cause. Additionally, to use a mediation like Proin inappropriately could cause a problem with preventing him from urinating when he should. It could be that Mostafa is suffering from a UTI, and that's why he urinated on the bed. I would have him seen by a vet today. Your vet can do routine blood tests and a urinalysis to see if he does have a UTI or bladder stones. If he has a UTI, he will need antibiotics to treat it. Great question! It depends on why Sammy is urinating outside of the box. If it is for behavioral reasons, like marking, yes neutering him could help. If it is for behavioral reasons like stress, no. If he has a urinary tract infection, then neutering won't help. I recommend having a vet examine him first and rule out an infection. If that is normal, I would recommend neutering him for marking reasons. Lastly, I would recommend cleaning the urine with an odor neutralizer because even if you can't smell it, Sammy still can. If this was a once-time occurence, I wouldn't worry too much. But cat's shouldn't really urinate when they are sleeping. They can develop urinary incontinence which is most evident when they have been laying and there is a small amount of urine when they get up. Sometimes a UTI or other urinary issues can present similarly to incontinence. If you notice the leaking urine continues, then your cat should get checked out by a vet to see what is going on.
