Some cats/especially kittens are more sensitive to rapid changes in diets. You could try transitioning her to a bland diet for the next few days - this can include boiled chicken/hamburger and white rice. Some cats are more reluctant to eat this and if that is the case there are commercially available diets that are easy on the GI tract. I would recommend continuing to monitor the diarrhea for the next 24 hours. If it continues with no improvement it is possible that there may be something else going on. Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It appears that there is more mucous than I would like to see in the stool. This could be due to the diet and it could also be due to intestinal parasites. I would recommend switching food to a kitten food and see if that helps. If it does not improve and continues to progress, I would recommend having a veterinarian test her poop sample to check for intestinal parasites. I hope this helps! Blood in the stool is very worrisome to owners and I understand that but if it is a one time occurrence I would not be overly concerned. The most common reason for this colonic irritation is internal parasites. I suggest you speak to your vet about deworming. The two common parasites to cause blood in stool is hookworms and coccidia both of which are treated with different dewormers. You should have your vet run a fecal test first to figure out if that is the underlying reason. I would also suggest you start her on a probiotic and use it for at least 2 weeks.
