My young kitten is falling and can't walk. Is her food the problem?

Unfortunately, if Lila is having trouble walking or seems in pain, she needs to be seen by a vet. Unfortunately, there are a lot of issues that can cause this, so a vet visit is best. Neurologic issues from birth, muscular or nerve issues in the body, illnesses, toxicities, etc are all potential causes that could cause a cat to not be able to walk, stand, or fall over. A full vet visit is a good idea to help figure out what the problem is and provide appropriate treatment.

This sounds like she may have some neurological problem, or possibly a metabolic or infectious condition. This may be an emergency, so please take her to a pet ER for an exam and possibly medical intervention today.

It's definitely not normal. I would recommend that you have the kitten checked out by a vet. There could be something congenital (such as a brain issue) or an infection causing these weird episodes. She should be checked by a vet. This may be from an infection the mother had while pregnant known as cerebrellar hypoplasia or a developmental problem is she was small or the runt. This does not sound normal and I recommend to have her examined today. A blind cat generally does not have trouble walking. Instead they tend to walk slowly and cautiously but they are not unbalanced. A sudden onset of neurological signs is always concerning and could indicate poisoning, a stroke from a blood clot or even potentially infectious diseases which can infect humans like Toxoplasmosis. I recommend to play it safe and have Kiki examined today. Especially with a concern for infectious disease for humans. I hope this helps.
